My name is Sakuuya Iwamoto. I am sixteen and live in a small suburban town located just a few miles from Yokohama. I stand about 5'4," and have long reddish-brown hair and sapphire blue eyes. I'm generally soft-spoken and calm, sometimes my calmness comes off as being eerie, and at times it may make people think that I seem distant and cold. But that just isn't true...True, I do not talk much, with good reason, there are things that...are just best off let alone. I'm head of my class academically, as such I mean that I am highly intelligent. Straight As, all the way...not to mention I have several fanclubs...^n.n^;; Those--I never asked for, but they just sort of turned up. They're rather annoying really, but that can't be helped. So, as such, I am sort of--well--stuck with them. Luckily, I just ignore them most of the time.
But all this, the whole seeming happy-go-lucky girl, the optimist..the innocent...it isn't true. None of it is. People, when they look at me, they think "Wow, she must live some life. She's always seeming happy, always calm, and willing to help anyone and everyone." Well, what they think isn't true....There are things that have happened in my life that I just--try to forget. Things, that I do not want to remember, but things that I cannot escape....No matter how hard I try, no matter how much I may want to....
-Sigh.- What does she mean? You are probably asking yourself...Well, what I mean is this...I do not live with my parents...my parents...are dead...they died when I was just six years old. So I live with people who aren't my real parents...They have a son, his name is Rae...and it turns out that my foster parents...are his foster parents as well...My real parents knew Rae's real parents. But that was before we lost them...So then they handed our custodies over to friends of our families. Close friends of Rae's real parents...and just friends of mine. I've known Rae all my life, as such he has known me, and for as long as I can remember--at least in this life--is the fact that Rae and I have always seemingly been together. We've remained together through all the good times, and the bad. We have always been there for each other. Always....
What does she mean about 'this life?' You may ask. Well, when I made reference to that...I simply meant this. Something that even Rae does not know....-Sigh.- The truth is...I'm a half-kitsune, half-light angel. My mother was an angelic guardian who fell in love with a fox youkai. My--father was able to wield plant transfigurations and manipulations, whereas my--mother wielded the ability of light magic and light transfigurations. As such, hence the reason I am an angel/fox youkai cross. My high level intelligence is probably due to my father's genes, since he had lived for over a thousand years...he was a bandit. As for my mother, she was an angel of light and of healing. But it is true when they say, "that there isn't a person who does not carry scars on their heart..for without them they would indeed be a shallow soul..."
My mother, never fell from grace as some of her sort where known to. She was just--condemned to live a human life, forced really to live in Ningenkai with father. Both still had their powers, just that...my mother could never return to Joukai, and to Inari...My father...heh..he just chose to live in Ningenkai believing that he had nothing else to return to. Nothing in Makai seemed to call him back..Nothing.. But they were happy, and mother never cared if she ever was allowed to return to Joukai, she was happy. So long as she could be with father, she was happy. And I am sure that if she was given the chance to return to Joukai, she would have said no. Ningenkai, at least was a place where she could be with father. The two were in love, madly, deeply in love. Condemned to live a ningen-life didn't matter, as long as they could be together, forever....
But as time wore on, their human-lives began to claim most of their unnatural powers. Mother's ability to heal, father's ability to manipulate plants...As time wore on, they lost their powers, and became fully human. How, I do not know...some say it is possible that it was Inari trying to tell them something. Other's say it was because I was born, and their powers left them and were sent to me. I don't know which is true...but I believe that possibly it was Inari who was indeed telling them something.
An angel and a fox youkai could not live normal human lives, as such their powers left them...And the night before...I lost them...the transformations had been complete, both lost all their powers, they became human...and that night that they went out, leaving me with a woman, who is now my foster mother; was the last I would ever see of them. Just as humans are born and live, they must--they will eventually die. And that night...was the last I ever saw of my parents.
There was a car crash, they had swerved to avoid head-on collision with a large truck, who was zigzagging down the road...Father turned too quickly, and the car..went over the edge...and both their lives were claimed by the shadows of the dark that night....
I first learned the news when Mina (now my foster mother) took me to her home, and then I knew something was wrong...I felt this disbelievable pain inside my chest. Like someone had just suddenly taken a knife and embedded it in my chest. I knew something was wrong..I heard; distantly in my mind, two voices scream out, and then fall silent, upon hearing the crash of a car slipping through the branches of a tree. Those voices..they were the voices of my parents..The crashing car through the trees' branches was their car, as it was driven off the edge, and thrown against an old ancient sakura, who made its home on the rocky bottoms of the cliff. That tree, now when it blooms, its blossoms are a sickly-crimson. The color of blood, the color of a fiery disaster.
Later I learned how my parents died, although I already knew..but that didn't help me to accept it. I had hoped that what I had heard, and vaguely seen during my car ride to Mina's place, was just some crazy day-dream, some uncertain premonition. I didn't want to believe that I had heard how my parents died, in my mind. But when the doctor's told me they had both been lost...the tears just seeped uncontrollably from my eyes. Mina tried comforting me, but I wouldn't let her, or anyone else get near to me. If I could, I would have locked myself in one of the hospital rooms, but I didn't I just pulled away every time someone tried getting near to me.
Rae's parents died much the same way, a year before. On the same day, and although I am not certain, I believe it was the same truck that caused their deaths as well. Rae's father having swerved to get out of the way, misjudged his turn and space, and plunged into the cliffside bottom. Into the same tree that my parents had...Coincidental...no, I don't think so....
Anyhow, moving on...away from that topic...it's still too painful to even image of speak of...still..even now, ten years later...
In the past, I had been online with a friend of mine, she lives in the United States. We met through the net, in a chat room, I think. Anyhow, sou...her name is Kira, but I always call her Himitsu (secret, or secrecy). She gave me the nickname Fox, but then again..the name Fox has been my nickname for my entire life. Found it kind of funny, though. That Himitsu came up with that nickname when I hadn't even told her that all my friends referred to me as that. Everyone I know in school calls me Fox, so again, sou. Just found it sort of funny, of all nicknames, the one Himitsu pulled from the sky was Fox. ^n.n^;; Kind of strange, ne?
So sou, moving on. Well, I was online with her about a week ago and found out some interesting news...From the sounds of it, Himitsu and her father will be moving here, to Japan. Her father is in the military or something, and so he was called here for work. So the two would be moving here soon.
Well, it has now been yet another week, and as I was sleeping last night, I was awoken by someone whispering my name in my ear. "Fox," they said. As with a sudden jolt I sat bolt-upright, ending up on the floor. ^n.n^;; Sou, I know...I have a bed in my room, but I choose to sleep on the windowsill. Go figure, so anyhow..once I got over my initial shock and looked up, I saw...who standing there? Himitsu...and she was smiling. I, of course went into a total spaz out. Saying to her that if Mina and Jou found out, there would be hell to pay. But she just laughed, saying that no one knew she was even here. With a sigh I stood up and climbed back up onto the sill, and just sat there looking at her.
I had remembered Himitsu telling me about a few things, well, actually a lot of things about herself. Like how she was good at hacking into computers, and pick-pocketing, pick-locking...sou, all that fun stuff. As such, looking at her now I just shook my head, asking her what she was doing here, at one thirty in the morning. She just smiled and said,"I just moved in a few days ago, and was just wandering about meeting the neighbors." "In the dead of night?" I asked skeptically.
Himitsu just shrugged, and then grinned at me, I blinked and voiced, "Nani?"
Smiling she said, "Looks like you and I are neighbors."
Blinking I looked out my window. "So it would seem."Himitsu giggled and then sat down on the sill across from me, following my gaze out the window. "You know,"she began softly.
"Hm?"
"I am really glad that I finally get to see you in real life. I mean, when you sent me the pictures and the emails, the letters..I was glad to see and hear from you then. But meeting you in real life, like this...it's just--amazing."
Shrugging again I voiced "Hm."
Turning towards me, she looked at me with her crimson eyes, and smiled as my sapphire-blue gaze met her's.
"Well," said Himitsu. "Isuppose that I had best get back home." Smirking she leapt down from the sil, and headed towards my bedroom door. Looking over her shoulder she flashed me one of her mysterious smiles. "See you tomorrow at school. Oh, and don't worry...no body will even know I was here." As just like that she headed down the stairs and was gone. I didn't even hear the door shut.
"Stealth," I reasoned with myself, speaking now only to the solitary night. "That's just how Himitsu is."
Secrets here, are hidden bare...kept secret until the time has come for them to be revealed....
