Now then, let's see..last night Himitsu paid me yet another surprised visit. She had appeared this time outside my window, and tapped on it seeking entrance. So eventually, I let her in. Gods, if she keeps this up I'm going to be the one falling asleep in my classes. Anyhow, last night we just started talking about simple things. And I asked her about her obsession with fire just to make idle conversation. She just shrugged at said, "It just runs in the family." So, I took her on her word.
Then, realizing the time, she finally bid me farewell and goodnight, before exiting my room through the window she had entered it. Shrugging, I just sighed softly, and leaned my head back against the sill, and eventually drifted back off into slumber.
Today, is Saturday. Yay. Which means Himitsu and I will be hanging out today. Maybe we will go the park or something. Maybe, I can show her The Rock Gardens. They are one of my favorite places to visit, and are a place where I can stay and just clear my mind of things. Listening to the waterfalls, and the gurgling streams, the wind in the trees, sou, all that fun stuff. It's someplace most oftenly quiet, and calming, serene. But then, I don't know...Himitsu isn't any sort of calm and serene person. Yet, I think that I am going to show her it anyways. It's one of my favorite places, and I want to share it with her.
Himitsu and I met up around one something today and then began to head to the park. We were arguing about something, and hadn't realized that we were walking in the total opposite direction of the park, and towards a small neighborhood that consisted of many small homes. A rather pleasant and friendly looking neighborhood though, I must admit.
Anyhow, Himitsu was going on about something; the fact that she had pick-pocketed my cell, and called Ace's cell. Ye gods, she embarrassed the hell out of me with that. Ace had answered and asked who it was, and what they wanted. And then Himitsu handed me the phone, stiffling a giggle. I blushed and quickly muttered some believable story, so that he just said, "Aha, okay," and then hung up. I glared sharply at Himitsu, who just smirked and began laughing. I voiced coldly some sort of comeback at her, when suddenly I looked up and noticed a two story home, and something about it just seemed--familiar.
Himitsu broke off in mid-sentence and glanced towards the house.
"Who's house is this?" I asked.
Himitsu cocked her head and glanced towards the window. "It's Max's."
Blinking I turned to her. "What do you mean, 'it's Max's?' How the hell did we know to come here? Or even, why?"
Himitsu shrugged, and then we both looked up at the window just as a form glanced back at us from the inside. It was Max.
Opening the window she looked out the window and at us. "What is all this commotion about?" Then she saw us. "Kira, Fox, what are--what are you doing here?"
"Gomen ne, Max-chan" I apologized quickly. "We did not mean to create so much racket. Himitsu and I were just carrying on about something."
Beside me, I heard Himitsu voice, "Hn." Then folded her arms and looked up into the window and at Max.
"Well, now that we are here, what do you say to joining us, Max?"
"Join you?"
"Yeah, we are heading the park, and someplace that the fox calls The Rock Gardens."
Max looked back at us interested. "The Rock Gardens?"
"Yep,"said Himitsu simply.
"Sure why not. Hold on a second, be right down." Then her head disappeared from the window, as in the next couple of minutes she had appeared beside us.
I turned to Himitsu and just shook my head. Himitsu just smiled back at me, and then the three of us started towards the park. Once there, we got onto talking about Himitsu's crush. Not entirely sure how is showed up, it just seemed to be the topic that jumped into any one of our minds, well, except for Himitsu. She started getting annoyed, still in denial of liking Logan. Max, though, it seemed, liked to see her annoyed. It was rather amusing, I must admit, to see the two of them arguing like they were.
Our venturing then lead us to the Rock Gardens. Here, there were a few families sitting at picnic tables, eating dinner, or just talking. A few even had groups of High School students, all which seemed enthralled in deep gossip. So the three of us wandered over to the gazebo. Here, was my favorite place to just sit and think, to clear my mind of past troubling thoughts and memories.
Himitsu, it seemed, didn't mind the whole serenity of the area, and seemed rather content. Max, looked as if she had been here before. She sat down on one of the benches that were nailed into the building's walls, with her head tipped back, and her eyes shut. Just seeming to enjoy the feel of the wind through her hair, and the gentle rushing of the stream. Then of course, there was the few strands of sunlight that seeped into the area. She basked in those. As again I say..very catlike, indeed.
We stayed at the Rock Gardens for the majority of the day, and then I remembered that I had left Rae with Ace earlier today. vx.xv
So I wound up making attempts to call Rae's cell, it didn't seem to be on. Gods, I thought, I know what Ace is capable of. That was so stupid of me, leaving Rae with him.
I turned to leave and Max and Himitsu both turned to me. "I didn't get through," I told them, and Himitsu leapt down from her sitting position on the railing, as Max leapt up from the bench she had been inhabiting.
By now the sun was slowly setting. Looking to Himitsu I shook my head. "What am I suppose to do? Rae could be anywhere. Ace knows most of the clubs on this side town." Himitsu just set her hand on my shoulder and told me to calm down. Shaking my head I looked up.
"I shouldn't have left Rae with Ace, it was a fool's error."
"Take it easy, Fox. We'll find him," said Himitsu.
I looked back at her. "How?"
Smiling her secretive smile Himitsu looked at me with gleaming red eyes. "Trust me, I have ways."
She then let her hand slip down to rest in mine before with a tug had she started pulling me from the Rock Gardens. Max followed us.
Well, as it turns out Himitsu somehow knew how to find Ace. Turns out he was at Moondancers one of the more popular clubs, at least on this side of town. When we arrived I could tell that Himitsu was ticked severely off. I glanced about the area, and finally spotting Ace, I tugged at her sleeve and pointed into the direction. Himitsu turned and walked across the dance floor. Appearing next to Ace she glared, and then grabbed his ear.
"Come on, we are leaving." I had rushed across the dance floor after her, and appeared at Rae's side, making sure that he was okay. He just shook his head and told me that he was fine. As with that, we left, and once outside, Himitsu let go of Ace's ear as then we stopped a few blocks from the club.
"What were you thinking?!" I heard Himitsu hiss at Ace.
"Himitsu," I said and stepped up beside her and looked into Ace's own pale-blue eyes. "Ace, Rae is only sixteen. You are only seventeen, the two of you do not belong at the club. Least of all Moondancers."
Ace looked back and shrugged, Rae stayed quiet at my side. Max looked between the two.
"It's fine," said the dark-haired girl. "They didn't do anything, and both of them seem okay, let's just get going home."
Max looked towards the sky. "It's going on eight thirty as it is." Himitsu looked at her.
"How did you manage that?"
"Manage what?" asked Max slightly baffled.
"Knowing what time it was without a watch?"
Max laughed and held up her wrist. "I do have a watch, Kira."
Blinking Himitsu glanced at her wrist. "But you were looking towards the sky when you said it."
"Yeah," said Max. "And your point being?"
Again I stepped between the argument and said, "Please, let's not argue. Max is right, Himitsu. It is getting late and we should be getting home." Exhaustion being reflected clearly in my voice.
Earlier that day we had bypassed the Rock Gardens, when we split up to look for Ace and Rae. I had wandered by the Rock Gardens, after having met up with Himitsu, and as we walked by the gardens we saw several people dressed entirely in black, sitting exactly where the families and students had only but been sitting earlier today. Wandering off then, we went to find Max. Once we all met up, that was when Himitsu lead us to Moondancers, where we found Ace and Rae. (And FYI, Logan had been following Himitsu the entire time. ^n.n^;;).
Turning to Himitsu where I stood I nodded. "Come on, let's go."
The others agreed, and well...in order to get home we needed to pass the Rock Gardens again. And well, this time, when we walked by them we suddenly stopped. Himitsu's gaze was set into a death stare towards the gazebo. Max and I followed her gaze and we saw the seven people, dressed entirely in black, sitting there in the building, all looking at us with fiery crimson eyes. Beside me, I heard Himitsu curse, "Damn."
The shadows advanced and we backed up. They kept coming until they had all of six of us backed up against the wall. Before one of the shadows gave a horrid screech, and in a single movement all seven of them launched towards us from the gazebo.
I pushed Rae behind me, and Himitsu braced. Ace, Jake, and Rae were all present, and Logan was up in a tree, also present. But Rae was my main concern. When Ace moved towards me, I whispered softly, "Ace, get Jake, Rae, and yourself out of here, and hurry."
Ace nodded and then grabbed Rae's arm, Jake saw the action and when Max whispered something to him he nodded, and followed Ace and Rae. Logan soon also followed. So that just left Max, Himitsu, and I alone with the shadows.
However, the shadows seemed to have picked Max, Himitsu, and I as their targets, and as such, I figured that the boys would be safe. The shadows didn't seem to even regard them in the slightest as Ace and the other's ducked out and disappeared into the night. Not much thought shared there. For the next thing I knew, I was in the throw of battle with two of the shadows. Max was attacked also by two, and Himitsu had three of them on her.
Most of my actions consisted of dodging, or else a few martial art moves (I am always being told that my fights look like dances). Himitsu's battle style reminded me of dancing flames, and Max's tacticts were just considered stealthy, very--catlike. But, then another effect took note in my mind. When Himitsu pulled back from one of her foes, her hand was covered in blood. It looked as if her hand had been a claw that tore through her enemy. When all the shadows seemed defeated, Max, Himitsu, and I walked to the center of the wall. Glancing at each other.
"Well," said Himitsu. "That had been rather--interesting." Breathing shallowly I nodded, and then wandered over to the stream that encirlced the gazebo, and glanced into the waters. They were stained with night colors. Black, like ink. Shaking my head I pulled away, and switched positions looking at my two companions. Himitsu had seemingly cleared the blood from her hand as I noticed now that it was cleaned.
"Is everyone all right?" asked Max, as both Himitsu and I nodded. "What--were those things?" she wanted to know, but I said nothing, and even Himitsu stayed silent, but maybe it was because she had not known. Maybe it was because she knew, but didn't want to let Max and I know that she knew. I'd have to go with the latter. Something inside me, just told me, subconsciously that aa, Himitsu did know, but she just didn't want to tell us, for fear of revealing to us that she knew.
Once more I glanced towards the sky, before slipping from then bench and to the ground, I brushed myself off. "We'd best be getting home. It's late," I said to the other two. Max nodded and so did Himitsu. "And we had best find out if Rae and the other's got home safely." Again my companions nodded, as we started on our ways home. We bid farewell to Max as she headed towards Jake's home to check on him, while Himitsu and I headed to our home neighborhood. We then went our separate ways and said our goodbyes, and goodnights.
I called Ace, he was home, safe and sound. Rae met me almost instantly at the door, eyes looking at me with gentle emotion making sure that I was okay. I told him that I was fine. Max called, Jake got home fine. So sou. Everyone seemed to have gotten home safe and sound that night.
And again I say, I think I will just leave it at that, friends. Take care, and ja ne.
Secrets here are hidden bare, until the time is right for them to be revealed...
