Okay, so then now where did I leave off? Oh yeah, I remember...Himitsu's visit. Well, yeah that was a bit unexpected, but then the element of surprise seems to fit her so well.
Now then, let's see...well, today I went to school like I usually do. Himitsu it seemed had most all of my classes with me, and during first hour Biology she almost got a detention. Had it not been for me, and for my own reputation she would have been on her way out the door. Himitsu, it seems had forgotten to wear her uniform. So instead she wore a crimson colored t-shirt with some black lettering on it, the wording indecipherable. A lot of swirls among other things, pictures of things I think, that were added for looks, more then for meaning, I am sure. That and she wore black slightly flare-legged pants.
Our school uniform consists of a white short-sleeved shirt, chinese style, with a knee length slightly layered skirt, brown or black shoes, and the small sailor cape with slightly-banned silver stripes. The outfit it seems also looks as if it were or had been dusted with silver.
Himitsu comes from the US, so there they rarely have to wear uniforms, and she mentioned to me during one of our online chats that she hates the damn things. She also had asked why I was laughing, and I told her that it was nothing. Just that where I go to school, we do have uniforms to wear, and I wear it regardless of the color. When she asked me the color I told her that it was white and silver. She just went silent for a while, before voicing a "hell no." Again I burst into laughter.
Well, aha...now she is here, and she is suppose to be wearing the uniform that she dreaded ever having to wear. When Mrs. Yukimura started yelling at her, demanding where her uniform was, I went silent, but only momentarily. Then I stood up and bowed politely to her. "Excuse me, Mrs. Yukimura, if I may speak. Kira is new here. She's a foreign exchange student from the United States. As such, she is not entirely informed on our policies. She just moved here a couple days ago, and is still adjusting. Please, do excuse her, I am sure that Kira will be wearing her uniform tomorrow."
At first, I was afraid that she was going to round on me, and start yelling at me, but then...this was me, Sakuuya Iwamoto who was speaking...Top of the class, a good student, quiet, gentle. So she just glanced at me, as I shot Himitsu a dangerous look having heard her mutter the words, "That's what you think."
When Mrs. Yukimura asked what she had said Himitsu just flinched, looked up at her, and gave her one of her pretend smiles. "Nothing, ma'am."
Mrs. Yukimura nodded, then turned from us, and headed back to her desk, as with a sigh I sat back down, and glanced at Himitsu. "You are so lucky that I was here to stick up for you. And you had better be wearing your uniform tomorrow, because I would hate to have to do that again."
Himitsu just shrugged and then went back to drawing one of her pictures in her sketch book.
Well, as the day wore on, I found that many of my classes I had with Himitsu, and also this other girl in our school named Max. I never really did talk to her much, mostly we just keep conversation to those that we knew, and who we were close to us. But since Himitsu got here, I have been hanging out with Max a lot more, and have been talking to her a lot more as well.
Max has layered black hair that comes to about her chin, and curls somewhat under. Her eyes are lavender, and she is really good at gymnastics and dance. A lot of her skills seem almost, well, catlike in nature. That may seem somewhat odd, but that's just my own perception.
Well, as it turns out both Himitsu and I had seen Max wandering about our neighborhood last night. (Forgot to mention that in last night's post. Gomen ne. Forgot to mention about the girl we suddenly saw walking by my window.)
Anyhow, falling back, when Himitsu paid an unexpected visit to me. We had been talking about--something, when suddenly she told me to be silent, so I was. I glanced towards my window just as this girl walked by. She didn't look in or anything, and I at first I had the impression that maybe she was sleepwalking. Turns out though, that she wasn't. She was indeed awake, and was just going for a midnight stroll. Himitsu and I saw her head a ways to the east, which must have been the direction of her home. The girl had looked no older then us, and as we found out the next day in class, said girl turned out to be Max. But I do not think she even knows that we had seen her last night.
Like I said, since Himitsu has showed up weird things have been going on. I don't ever remember seeing Max walk by my window like she did last night. It had never happened. Not until...Himitsu moved here.
Anyhow, moving right along. Max and Himitsu have a couple classes alone together. For example they are in Graphic Arts when I am in History. Things of that nature. Well, it as it turns out, the three of us also have the same lunch together, so we ended up eating lunch together.
Also, there are a few boys who have some classes with us, and have the same lunch as we do. Their names: Well, you all know Rae. Then there are his friend Ace, and then there is Logan and Jake. All four are good pals. They get along real well, that is when Ace isn't picking on Rae, and attempting to annoy the hell out of everyone else. Jake usually ends up silencing his outbursts with some sort of clever comeback or another though, so it doesn't usually get carried on too far, or for too long. There has been many times when I sware I have heard Jake voice something, and Ace blushes, usually then shutting up. Kind of cute really. ^n.n^;;
Oh, and about Jake, he's Max's boyfriend. They've been going out for as long as anyone can recall. Logan, on the other hand, I think Himitsu has a crush on him, but of course she denies it. Yet, lately I have seen her glancing out the windows of our classes and up into the trees, more-than-likely looking for Logan. Who has attendancy to skip class, quite frequently really. Rae has spoken to him about it, and even Ace has, but neither have changed his mind. He still prefers to lounge in the trees, and just watch as we toil away at our work. I think the teachers have finally just given up on marking him absent, because none have mentioned his name as of late.
Well, anyhow as it turns out. Himitsu saw Logan today during our Study Hall class, and because she had already had all her work done, she took out her sketch book and began to draw. When, absently she looked out the window and saw Logan sitting in the tree with his eyes closed. Almost immediately, she got an inspiration, and then ended up drawing a picture of him. Muttering something about, "Hm..a boy in a tree..How interesting."
I followed her gaze and saw Logan, then smiled beside myself. "That's Logan," I told her. "He's almost always found sitting in a tree and just watching the students. Funny though, I have noticed that he has been paying a great deal of attention to you." Chuckling, I smiled and then turned back to the story that I was originally working on. And Himitsu, of course almost instantly started blushing at my comment.
Well then later on, the teacher left the room to go attend to something down at the office, leaving us all alone. Max and Jake almost immediately started making out, and then when Himitsu wasn't looking Ace grabbed her picture, and looked at it. As it turns out, the picture that my friend had drawn had been of Logan, with his shirt off, and with wings of flame.Which, draws me to another curiosity, Himitsu did once tell me that she had this obsession with fire, as once or twice I have caught her toying with a lighter and running her fingers through its flame. She doesn't ever get burned. Sou, go figure. Kind of odd don't you think?
Well then, there is me and my obsession with plants...but that you already know the reason to. My father remember? He was a fox youkai with the power to manipulate plants. My own fascination with them just turns out to run in my veins, by means through my father's blood.
Anyhow, back to the whole picture stealing event. So sou, Ace grabbed Himitsu's picture and began to wave it in the air. Logan, hearing the commotion opened his eyes and glanced into the classroom, just as Max leapt to her feet and grabbed the picture from Ace, laughing and waving it before Himitsu who sat at the end of the table opposite Max, and across from me.
Himitsu made an attempt to get the picture back, but Max hid it behind her back, and waved it for Jake to take, he did. But rather then waving in the air and annoying Himitsu with it; placing it behind his own back he handed the picture to Rae, who sat beside him, and next to me. Rae, took the picture then handed it to me. I handed it back to Himitsu, while Ace and Max laughed a bit more.
Max then looked at Jake, and flashed him a playful smile saying something like, "Honey, how could you? You weren't suppose to give it back to her." Jake just smiled and looked down the table and at me. I smiled back softly.
"Technically, Max, Jake didn't give it back to Himitsu. He gave the picture to Rae, and Rae gave it to me. I gave it back to her."
"Oh, fine," said Max before giving another playful smile, and then turning back to her own writing just as the teacher entered. The bell rang only momentarily and so the day ended.
Well, Max, Himitsu, and I walked to the park and we hung out a while there. Talked a bit more, bugged Himitsu about her crush on Logan. Which, of course she denied.
"Really?" said Max with a very catlike grin. "Then how come he has been following you since we left school?"
"I don't know," said Himitsu, "Maybe he just lives this way."
"Kira," said Max playfully. "I have known Logan for a while, and let me tell you. He sure as hell doesn't live this way, and haven't you noticed? He has been keeping his eyes on you this entire time."
"So?" said Himitsu. "Maybe he's just--" I broke in with a soft chuckle.
"Face it, Himitsu, he likes you. And I mean he really, really likes you." I smiled at her and Himitsu covered her ears.
"No, he doesn't, and I don't like him!"
"Mmhm..." I said and Himitsu looked up at me annoyed.
"I don't."
Chuckling I looked away. "Whatever you say, Himitsu."
I then stood up; we had been swinging, and began to make my way home. Himitsu followed, since we lived practically right across from each other. Max left and began to head in the opposite direction and to her own home. I still kept bugging Himitsu about the whole crushing Logan thing, and she just took it, firing some sort of sarcastic comebacks at me. But when we got near our houses, we bid goodnight and then headed in for the night.
And I think I am just going to leave it at that, friends.
Secrets here, are hidden bare until the time comes for them to be revealed.
